Warranty
L&M Boutique offers 6 months extended warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.
We take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our range. Every item is reviewed by our quality assurance team individually prior to shipping.
The warranty covers defects in material or workmanship that deems the product unusable and cause a complete loss of functionality. You are entitled to a replacement or repair of a major manufacturing failure and for a compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have your goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Please note that your consumer warranty does not cover any damage caused by normal wear and tear, improper use, neglect, accidental damage, abrasion, exposure to extreme temperatures, water damage or the natural deterioration of materials and fittings over time, including zip wear and velcro wear.
Warranty claims must comply with the below conditions:
L&M Boutique warranty does cover failure due to manufacturing faults in material or workmanship or due to the manufacturing process.
L&M Boutique warranty does not cover:
-
products that are deemed faulty or damaged from misuse, wear and tear over time, or found to be unrelated to a manufacturing issue.
-
products that are deemed faulty or damaged due to overfilling your bag or carrying heavy items. Areas of stress on the straps and zipper hardware will be notable if the bag has been overfilled.
-
products that are deemed faulty or damaged due to accidental misuse and incidental or consequential damages.
-
products that are deemed faulty or damaged due to improper care or storage including washing techniques.
-
products that are deemed faulty or damaged due to faulty zips that have worked for 3 months from the date of purchase. We class this as wear and tear and not a manufacturing defect as this will be down to misuse.
If you believe that you received a product with the manufacturing fault that comply with the conditions above, please initiate a warranty claim as soon as possible by contacting us at info@lmboutique.com.au with the following information:
- Description of the fault
- Photo or/and short video showing the fault
- Proof of purchase
In most cases, we will request you to return the item to us for our assessment. The resolution for a faulty item will be dependent on the outcome of the review by our team.
If the defect is deemed to be a manufacturing fault we will facilitate complimentary repair. If the fault is deemed unfixable, we will offer an exchange or a store credit. If an item is out of stock, we will offer an alternative product, a store credit or waitlist the item for you.
You will be responsible for paying your own shipping cost for returning your item(s) under warranty claim. Post the item(s) to the return address that you will receive by email. We cannot guarantee that we receive returned items, therefore a registered tracking number must be provided. You may also choose to use a shipping insurance. If your product is deemed to have a major manufacturing fault we will reimburse you for the postage costs. We will not cover the return shipping cost or provide a refund/exchange for items that are found to be damaged from misuse, wear and tear over time, or found to be unrelated to a manufacturing issue.
Failure to follow the guidelines below for using and caring for your L&M products would be considered misuse. Please pay particular attention to overpacking and zips.
Care guidance:
We recommend treating your L&M items with care. Caring for your nappy bags properly is the best way to extend their life.
- Do not overfill the product. Whilst our bags are designed to carry all the items you need for you and your baby, please note that overloading your bag may result in unnecessary stress on the straps, connection elements and main zip compartment hardware - any damage thereof would constitute misuse.
- Avoid contact with rough and abrasive surfaces.
- Store your L&M bag in its original dust bag.
- We recommend regular spraying/treating your bag with water proofer to ensure the vegan leather stays in its premium condition.
- Use dedicated polyurethane leather cleaner to clean your bag. Please do not use any sanitising or high alcohol content gel, wipes or spray, as this can discolour and stain your bag. If your bag gets wet, wipe the excess water with a lint-free cloth and leave to air dry naturally. The interior lining can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth or baby wipe.
- Never use direct heat to dry the access water of your bag.
- Avoid leaving your bag in a direct sunlight for prolonged period of time.
Zips and hardware:
Ensure you only zip and unzip your bag when the zipper is flat and straight. We advise that when zipping and unzipping your bag you hold it or place it onto a surface. Do not hold it by the actual zips to open and close it.
Overloading in volume and forcing the zip shut will put unnecessary pressure on your zip, and overtime will cause your zip to stretch. This may mean that your zip will then separate through the zip teeth over time when zipped up. If it's hard work to do your zip up, eg: you are forcing it or it's harder than usual you have too much in it and you are putting too much pressure on the zip.
Excessive pulling or tugging on the zip may cause the zip head to bend and the zip teeth misalign.
When accessing backpacks that are not resting on the ground, ie: hanging from a pram or hook or on your back - take care to place a hand under the backpack to take the weight, otherwise as the zip opens the weight of the bag places pressure on the zip pull causing it to stretch over time or the teeth misshape - this will cause problems with the functionality of the zip including zipping.
It is a customer's responsibility to take care of the zips. Just like all zips, we recommend having your zip serviced occasionally to ensure the teeth are still in good condition.
In the unlikely event that your zipper jams, the teeth bend or the zip may become loose, your local cobbler should be able to either unjam or tighten your zip if required.
General wear and tear occur on bags. Blemished and scratches on hardware are normal when a bag is being carried and used regularly. Plating layer on the hardware may rub off over time depending on how often the hardware gets in contacts with skin, oils or perfumes.
